Opmerkingen: Dit beeld is gemaakt als vervolg op diverse blad & bloemvormen. De steen heeft sterk afwisselende lageen en een grote variatie in kleur van licht naar donker. Ik vond het mooi om terugkerende vormen te maken in de steen en om het afwisselend te bewerken en te polijsten.

Notice: This sculpture was made as a follow-up to various leaf & flower shapes. The stone has highly varied layers and a great variation in color from light to dark. I liked to make recurring shapes in the stone and to work and polish it alternately.

Opmerkingen: In dit beeld onderzocht ik het holle en het bolle, hierdoor ontstond een spel van licht en schaduw. Het wordt een geheel eigen landschap aan vormen. Ik heb in verschillende episodes aan dit beeld gewerkt. Het beeld is gemaakt van een marmer riviersteen uit de rivierbedding van de Serra op de berg Monte Altissimo bij Azzano, waar in het verleden Michelangelo het marmer van dezelfde berg haalde. Dit marmer is statuario marmer, dit is een fijnere marmer als ordinario marmer. Het is een abstract tijdloos beeld.

Notice: In this sculpture I examined the hollow and the convex, creating a play of light and shadow. It becomes a completely unique landscape of shapes. I have worked on this image in several episodes. The sculpture is made of a marble river stone from the river bed of the Serra on the mountain Monte Altissimo near Azzano, where in the past Michelangelo took the marble from the same mountain. This marble is statuario marble, this is a finer marble like ordinario marble. It is an abstract timeless sculpture.

Opmerkingen: Haute reliëf, uitgehold aan de achterzijde. In deze marmer zitten hele grote kristallen. Om dit te laten zien heb ik uiteindelijk scherpe contrasten gemaakt tussen gepolijst en grof gehakt. Vooral in de zon zie je de kristallen. Wasem is de ademdamp die terug waait in je gezicht in de wind.

Notice: Haute relief, hollowed out at the back. This marble contains very large crystals. To show this, I ended up making sharp contrasts between polished and roughly chopped. Especially in the sun you see the crystals. Vapor is the vapor that blows back into your face in the wind.

Opmerking: Diabaas is een soort graniet, vulkanisch ontstaan als uitvloeiingsgesteente, zwart met groen van kleur. Diabaas wordt gewonnen in o.a. Thuringen en het Lahn-Dill gebied in Duitsland. De inspiratie voor deze steen waren de vormen van Aurora borealis of het Noorderlicht.

Notice: Diabass is a kind of granit, volcanic origin as effluent rock, black with green in color. Diabaas is extracted in Thuringen and the Lahn-Dill area in Germany. The inspiration for this stone were the shapes of Aurora borealis or the Northern Lights.

Opmerkingen: Graniet is een dieptegesteente. Er is een deel met lijnen, uitlopend in een punt ontstaan. Een deel is gepolijst en een deel heb ik onbewerkt gelaten, om het ruwe materiaal te laten zien. De boorgaten onderaan vond ik mooi om erin te laten voor de expressie van het beeld, als een soort poortjes.
Het beeld heeft een opwaartse stroom door de punt en de lijnen die naar de punt lopen. De gladde gepolijste vorm trekt het eerst de aandacht en staat centraal in het beeld, het staat dwars op de vorm erachter. Toch komen beide vormen voort uit de onderste onbewerkte vorm. Ze hebben een contrasterende relatie met elkaar. De achterzijde is hol om hem minder zwaar te maken en hangt tegen de muur.

Notices: Granite is a deep rock. With this high relief, I chose to create this sculpture completely intuitively. In this way a part with lines, ending in a point, was created. I polished some, and left some untouched to reveal the raw material. The drill holes that can be seen at the bottom are left in it for the expression of the sculpture, as a kind of gates.
It has an upward flow through the tip and the lines running to the tip. The smooth polished shape attracts attention first and is central to the image, it is transverse to the shape behind. They cannot live without each other and have a contrasting relationship with each other. The back is hollow to make it less heavy hanging at the wall.

Opmerkingen/Notice: de mooie grijze Volvic steen komt uit de Auvergne, een jong vulkanen gebied. Volvic is een basalt steen. De Euville kalksteen komt uit midden Frankrijk.

Opmerkingen: afm. betonnen sokkel 55 x 15 x 15 cm, gewicht 24 kg.
De inspiratie voor deze vorm ontstond, doordat ik graag 2 structuren in deze steen wilde laten zien. In het gepolijste deel zie je de lagen en kristallen in de steen. Door de hardheid van deze steen moeten de vormen heel eenvoudig blijven. Daardoor heeft dit beeld een abstractere vorm gekregen. De symboliek in dit beeld verbeeldt een oog of spleet of doorgang naar een andere werkelijkheid. Vormgeving en inspiratie werken door elkaar heen in het beeld. Beide ontstonden gaandeweg tijdens het maken.

The inspiration for this shape came about, because I wanted to show 2 structures in this stone. In the polished part you can see the layers and crystals in the stone. Due to the hardness of this stone, the shapes must remain very simple. As a result, this sculpture has acquired a more abstract form. The symbolism in this sculpture represents an eye or slit or passage to another reality. Design and inspiration work together in the sculpture. Both arose during the making process.

Opmerkingen: Dubbelbeeld. De stenen zijn bewerkt met de puntbeitel, gedeeltelijk gepolijst + gedeeltelijk ruwe steen gelaten om het mooie van deze stenen te laten zien d.m.v. aanbrengen van contrast in de bewerking. Ik vond het mooi de basisvorm van de steen heel te laten. De wind kan tussen de stenen door zingen en door de openingen in de steen en maakt zo het lied.

Notice: Double sculptures. The stones are worked with the pointed chisel, partly polished + partly rough stone left to show the beauty of these stones by means of adding contrast to the processing. I thought it was nice to leave the basic shape of the stone intact. The wind can sing between the stones and through the openings in the stone, making the song.
