Abstract met oog

Materiaal: Belgische Hardsteen Noir de Mazy op sokkel

Opmerkingen: afm. betonnen sokkel 55 x 15 x 15 cm, gewicht 24 kg.
De inspiratie voor deze vorm ontstond, doordat ik graag 2 structuren in deze steen wilde laten zien. In het gepolijste deel zie je de lagen en kristallen in de steen. Door de hardheid van deze steen moeten de vormen heel eenvoudig blijven. Daardoor heeft dit beeld een abstractere vorm gekregen. De symboliek in dit beeld verbeeldt een oog of spleet of doorgang naar een andere werkelijkheid. Vormgeving en inspiratie werken door elkaar heen in het beeld. Beide ontstonden gaandeweg tijdens het maken.

The inspiration for this shape came about, because I wanted to show 2 structures in this stone. In the polished part you can see the layers and crystals in the stone. Due to the hardness of this stone, the shapes must remain very simple. As a result, this sculpture has acquired a more abstract form. The symbolism in this sculpture represents an eye or slit or passage to another reality. Design and inspiration work together in the sculpture. Both arose during the making process.
